Problem

After disconnecting the Cisco AnyConnect VPN software, I am unable to connect to (email, internet, network drives…)

Solution

There is a known issue with the Cisco AnyConnect VPN software that occurs in the following situation:

The user is working on a domain connected computer, and is using the AnyConnect software (usually to connect to ArchPass).

The user then disconnects the AnyConnect software. It has been noted that the process of disconnecting takes an abnormally long time when this issue occurs.

After disconnecting the AnyConnect software, the user loses some or all network connectivity. This includes losing access to email, internet, shared drives, network printers, etc.

This issue has been found to occur mostly on computers running Windows 10 as the operating system.

The solution to this issue is usually to restart the computer. This causes the IP configuration to reset and network connectivity is restored.

Administrators and IT Staff members may also be able to restore connectivity by running ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew from an elevated command prompt.
