Problem

I need to install a networked printer onto a computer running Ubuntu Linux.

Solution

  1. Open ‘System Settings’ window and click on Printers icon.

      2. Click ‘Add’ button to add a new printer.

      3. Expand the ‘Network Printer’ section and select ‘Windows Printer via SAMBA’.

      4. Browse available network printers for the one you wish to install.

      5. Many printers on the OVPR print server will automatically load the print drivers when you connect. If the print drivers do not load automatically, you will need to install them.

      6. Print a test page to ensure you have correctly connected to the network printer.
